Issam Attalah is a Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Business at the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (Spain).

Issam started teaching at a vocational training center right after getting his bachelor’s degree in organizational communication. Later, he realized the need to have industry experience in order to share, with his students, concrete cases from the corporate world. He, therefore, moved to Dubai where he worked as a marketing manager for an IT company and gained international experience.

In 2015, he decided to resume his studies and prepare a master’s degree in digital communication at the University of Paul Sabatier Toulouse III (France) during which he had the chance to work for an innovation hub on open innovation initiatives involving different stakeholders of the business ecosystem.

Research Interest

Issam main research area is open innovation, mainly hackathons and innovations contests. This includes research questions concerning the hackathons as open innovation and collective intelligence tools.
