    Intellectual Property

Regardless of where we live and work, what we do for leisure, on vacation or in everyday life, we encounter intellectual property rights such as patents, copyrights and trademarks every day. Intellectual property rights - better known as intellectual property - help protect technological inventions and promote their exclusive commercialization. However, there are a number of challenges to be overcome, for example with regard to legal status, territoriality or ownership. In addition to their protective function, intellectual property rights also have a strategic function: with the help of intellectual property rights, analysts can track the development of companies, industries and entire economies and predict them in the context of competitive and technology intelligence.
At the Chair of Technology Management, we deal with topics related to intellectual property rights:
    • How can valuable patents be distinguished from less valuable ones?
    • How can intellectual property rights combined increase entrepreneurial success?
    • How can entrepreneurial challenges and approaches such as open innovation collaboration or sustainability be supported with the help of intellectual property rights?
    • Which patent indicators are useful to use in IP evaluation and strategy building?
