Dr. Petra Nylund

Research Assistant

Petra Nylund holds a Ph.D. in Management from IESE, Barcelona and an M.Sc. in Engineering and Business Management from KTH, Stockholm. After her Ph.D., she was a postdoctoral fellow at EADA Business School. Then she was an assistant professor at the University of Vic from 2014 to 2018, funded by the local Ausa Futur Program for Attracting International Talent.

With over ten years of teaching and researching strategy and innovation, Petra Nylund has developed a number of courses in these subjects online and on ground and has received highly positive student evaluations. Previously, she created strategies as a business consultant and corporate development manager in the telecoms industry in Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

From March 2019 until March 2020, Petra Nylund worked as a postdoctoral researcher for the Chair of Technology Management at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg and developed an online course on Strategies for Innovation in Technology Ecosystems and Platforms for the Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern.

Research Interest

Petra Nylund has also received several research grants and participated in two projects funded by the European Commission. Her work on technology and innovation ecosystems has been published in leading academic journals such as Technovation, The Leadership Quarterly, and Journal of Knowledge Management. She was the Ph.D. supervisor of Dr. Emma L. Hitchen and currently supervises two Ph.D. students.
