Data Science for Technology and Innovation Management with R
Content
Data Science is an interdisciplinary science that deals with the extraction of knowledge from data. Data science generates information from large volumes of data in order to derive recommendations for action for corporate management. The aim of these recommendations is to improve the quality of business decisions and the efficiency of work processes. The field of Data Science deals with the analysis of (large) amounts of data, the detection of anomalies in the data as well as the prediction of future events.
R is a cost-free open-source software for all common operating systems, which has become a standard application for statistical data analysis and data science in recent years. Today, R plays a major role in both the commercial and scientific sectors due to its range of functions, flexible scripting language, and continued increase in popularity.
In this course, students will master the basics of this widely used open-source language, including factors, lists, and data frames. They will implement statistical methods in the software package R and apply these basics to real-life technology and innovation management data sets.
Prior knowledge of Data Science and R is not needed for this course.
